MATCH PREVIEW | Wolves next up for Reserves

A repeat of last year's Reserves Grand Final takes place at Stanningley on Friday night as Leeds Rhinos Reserves and Warrington Wolves Reserves go head to head in round four of the 2026 Reserves grade competition, kick off 7pm.

Eight points proved to be the difference between the two clubs six months ago as George Brown's try helped Leeds lift the Grand Final trophy in front of a home crowd. Friday night sees the two sides meet for the first time since their Grand Final tussle as the Rhinos host a Warrington side who are the in-form team in the 2026 competition.

Last time out against Leigh, the Rhinos managed to notch up their first win of the new campaign in an 18-try display at Golborne Parkside. Chev Walker's side managed to come away with a stalemate against Wakefield in round one before losing out to Wigan in round two, but four tries from both Joe Diskin and Riley Lumb led the Rhinos to a convincing first win of the new season as Leigh were defeated 94-0.

The win moved Leeds up to sixth in the table ahead of this week's match, before away trips to Bradford and Huddersfield await in the coming weeks.

Ryan O'Brien's Warrington Reserves have matched the first team's record to begin 2026 as they have three wins from as many matches.

Besides a one-point loss to Hull KR, the Grand Final against Leeds was the only game the Wire lost in 2025. They have quickly put that to bed with three dominant scorelines against the Robins, Huddersfield and Hull FC so far this year, accumulating 144 points and conceding only 20. Ewan Irwin and Lachlan Webster have both been catalysts to the Wolves' success and have since been handed their club and Super League debuts in recent weeks. Webster is the side's joint leading try scorer with four tries so far in 2026, whilst half back Flynn Holden has matched the wingers' tally with scores in all three games so far.
